Buying a home is one of the most important and expensive financial decisions you will be making in your lifetime, so take this opportunity to learn about the house that will become your home. As a certified professional home inspector, licensed and insured in the Commonwealth of Virginia, let me help to set your mind at ease with a top to bottom home inspection. From roof to basement or crawlspace, I will go over any issues right away, with your inspection report completed and delivered within 24 hours. It includes both summary and detailed reports, along with dozens of pictures and video. And a good home inspection report can become the blueprint for your home maintenance plan.
Real estate decisions can be difficult and complicated, which is why it’s crucial to take a personalized and informed approach, especially when selling your own home. Day to day living makes us blind to issues, and you need someone that will take the time to really look closely at the many systems and components of your home. A detailed pre-listing inspection report gets you one step closer to preparing both you and your home to hit the market.
Radon, a colorless radioactive gas, is the second leading cause of lung cancer. Testing your home is the only way to know for sure if an indoor radon problem exists. I use a Sun Nuclear 1030, RadonSentinal continuous monitor, so it is constantly noting any changes in the levels, temperature, humidity, and air pressure within the home. Results are provided in an easy to read report and chart.

An update to my clients regarding upcoming inspections.
I am taking the precautions recommended by both InterNachi and ASHI very serious during this period. I completed the InterNachi course "COVID-19, Safety Guidelines for Home Inspectors". This program is in line with protecting the current home owner, the client and/or client's agent, as well as the inspector. These steps include, but are not limited to:
Not performing an inspection if the inspector or current owner is not feeling well.
Being consistent in the use of a face mask and gloves during the inspection.
Wiping surfaces with disposable wipes after testing, especially sinks and toilets.
Washing of hands and using hand sanitizers.
I also supply my own clean hand towels, paper towels, sanitizers, disposable wipes, and shoe covers.
These steps are not much different than the normal procedures that I take during each inspection, and I feel it is necessary during this period to reiterate the precautions we take as home inspectors with each and every inspection.
Stay Safe, Stay Well!
